Cincinnati, while being only the third-largest
in Ohio, is rich in attractions and
diversity. It has an impressive variety of museums, performing
arts venues, galleries, fine dining restaurants, festivals,
shopping areas and sports arenas (the Cincinnati Reds are
the oldest professional baseball team in the U.S.). Whether
it's viewing the exotic plants at the Krohn Conservatory,
Tyler Davidson's Genius of Water statue in Fountain Square,
the colorful vendors at Findlay Market, or taking a riverboat
cruise on the Ohio River; Cincinnati has plenty for everyone.
Design students, as well as other fine arts
fans will be rewarded for stopping by the Cincinnati Art Museum.
The museum boasts 6,000 years of world art of extremely high
quality. In addition to the art of ancient Egypt, Greece and
Rome, there are extensive galleries of Near and Far Eastern
art, Native American and African art. Future plans include
planned extensive galleries of furniture, glass, ceramics,
silver, costumes and folk art. Other worthy stops include
the cutting-edge works at the Contemporary Arts Center's brand
new location, and the Lois and Richard Rosenthal Center for
Contemporary Art.
